'Cause Folding Laundry Can So Wait...

1: Sleep.
I really should not complain because I know I probably
get more sleep than a bunch of my momma friends..
but seriously, between a snoring hubs and two fur babes...
sleeping has not been the same since I lived at home.

2: Saturday nights also known as UFC nights.
This, my friends I have decided I will not be attending anymore.
My hubs doesn't know this but I cannot take sitting through
one more 5 hour fight.
My bottom hurts by the time we leave.

3: My start to a Disney collection.

I have decided that I want to start my very own collection
of Disney movies.
The classics that is.
Last night I bought the first for this collection
and picked Lady and the Tramp.
(Ignore the other...I got it for the hubs)

4. Picnik and any other Photo editing program.
Goodness, I wish I looked like this in real life.
One of my friends showed me this program the other day
and I must say I am now addicted.
However, one can use it a bit to the extreme.
No blog names mentioned.

5. I need a maid.
The hubs and I did a deep clean of our bedroom today,
and I gotta say I was ashamed of the dust in those corners of the room.

6. Online Games.
Spider Solitaire and Freecell has totally sucked me in.
It's my turn to hobby when nothing else will do.

7. I wonder what I was looking at in those pictures.
The things that make you go hmmm.

Off I go to make up the bed!
Have a lovely Monday, friends! :)

A Whole Slew of Things...in Letter Form

{because we all know it's better!}

Dear *(*$#%%^*( ^*^*^*^(*&(_*&(*& :
Yes you...in that little black car.
I wanted to start my morning off right,
but when you in your wanna be crap of a sports car
almost killed me, I just knew I was in for it.
It's driver's like you that kill innocent people...
who take lives of precious loved ones.
Just know I got your license plate number, buddy.
{and for the record we were slowing down}

Dear Subway:
I do love you and your Veggie Delite on Wheat Bread.
Yum.

Dear Me:
Through all this exercise and eating better,
I'm starting to slowly see that thinner girl coming out.
You still have a ways to go, but keep on going.

Dear Computer:
I love you!!!!
I never thought the day would come when we would
finally purchase you...a new you!

Dear Hubby:
These candid pictures melt my heart.
xoxo

 Dear Sister:
Thank you for sending me this picture.
It's now the wallpaper on my phone..
as a reminder that those
cheesy, greasy tots from Sonic really isn't worth it.

wtf.
{taken May 2011}

Off I go to soak in the tub :)
My legs are killing me from Spin class!

Running Review (2)

Running.
I've decided we have a love/hate relationship.
I have more love towards it more than anything but some days,
it takes all I have to get out there and do it.
But I do it, and afterwards I'm loving it.
Make sense?
Probably not, right?

As of my last review nothing has changed too much.

The Shoes:
I'm loving them still.
They're worth every penny and I'd spend it again.
Get fitted friends!
Training location:
The same place mostly which is the track
at the civic center I joined.
On Thursdays however, it's ending up the day I meet with my bestie
and we run at the park closer to her.
Let me just say I can tell between concrete and track.
They aren't the same.

Exercise/Training Program:
So far my plan is working great.
This week I am up to one mile running.
Walk 2 laps, ran 5, walk 2 laps, ran 3, walk 2, ran 2, walk 2.
I'm hoping by next week I can make it to running a consecutive mile
with no walking.
On Tuesday's, I am starting to participate in a spin class!
I love it!
Even the hubs enjoyed it!
It's the best 3 bucks we've spent in a long time!
Aches/Pains:
Besides the knee, nothing other than the feel good muscle pain.
However, tonight I ran with this bad boy and he was amazing!!!
No knee pain whatsoever!!
(( why does this picture of my skin up close freak me out so much? ))
Nutrition / eating habits:
I'm doing a lot better!
It's amazing when you're not eating all that trash how great you feel!
Here's some examples of what I'm eating...
 Breakfast:
A small cup of Special K Cereal...or light yogurt.
Snack:
Low Sodium lightly salted rice cakes.
So good with Peanut Butter and a sliced up banana.
{I'm forcing the banana on me}
Lunch:
Lean Cuisine on occasion 'cause of the blood pressure issue.
or...
a veggie sub from Subway or Lenny's.
Dinner:
Now I'm still working on this one.
It's hard trying to cook healthy for two people!
Last night I cooked spaghetti using 1/2 wheat and 1/2 regular pasta
thanks to the advice from a friend.
It was delicious...
And on my evenings I head to the track...
I eat one of these.
Goals achieved:
I'm seeing some changes in the number slowly but surely...
I'm trying to just stay focus on what I'm doing and not stress to much
on these numbers.
And my increase in laps!!

And for the sake of a inspiring Pinterest quote...
I want this.
I love it.

My Lovey and I

Happy Valentine's Day!!

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
It's been almost 5 years of us being a couple.

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
He messaged me on the infamous MySpace...I was dating someone,
so anything more than a friend, I wasn't interested in having. Through mutual co-workers
and friends, we met in person...started having lunch dates, and one thing led to another.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
3 years this past December.

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We were in the process of planning a wedding...I had my dress and several other items.
One of the smartest decisions we ever made was tossing the "dream wedding" and
heading to the city hall off Lebanon's square. Lasted 15 minutes tops,
and was so so cheap!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Mike calls me babe, and I usually call him honey. Very rarely do we ever call each
other by name face to face.

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
He's smart, he's funny, and he communicates well.
7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
It was amazing. He wrote me this cute poem that led me on a scavenger hunt in
his apartment. It was perfect!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Flowers and teddy bear...{which it's normally just flowers}
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
I like both. I think it's nice to change it up!
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I still would like for him to meet my family in Florida! Ahem.
{I know you read this, babe}

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
We're actually going to celebrate it tomorrow night...and it's probably
going to be dinner and a movie. We're keeping it pretty low key.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I got my running shoes! That's what I wanted! :)

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Never, ever give up. Stay beside one another not only in good times, but in
the times you want to throw in the towel. And appreciate your spouse.
Appreciation goes a long way.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

My First Meltdown

This evening I had my first official meltdown with my hubby.
And I'm sure it won't be the last one...

And yes, it had to do with this strategic plan of getting back in to shape.
Geez, what in the world was I thinking?

Obviously I wasn't in my right mind when I didn't
consider any setbacks and hurdles I would have to cross.

I mean, when I ran before I had no problems what so ever.
I just did it.

But this time...
it's just not the same.
{i.e. I'm older, and heavier....}

I took this picture of myself earlier so you
would see just how I felt.
It's not the most flattering picture, but you get the point.
I look miserable, because this evening at the track...
it was miserable.

You see, there's one part of me that's not wanting
to cooperate and be nice...
and that's my right knee.
Goodness gracious...it's a pain.

So I'm taking in the wise knowledge of friends and icing it up,
and as you can see our dear Kaci wants it too!

And It Broke my Heart

"You have such pretty hair"

I normally would give an immediate thank you,
or reply with a typical,
"oh goodness it needs a color and trim so bad"
only realizing when it's too late a thank you was never mentioned.

But this time,
a lump in my throat formed
and I was at a loss of words.

"Thank you" I said as I looked back at her
wearing her bright blue bandana.

"I used to wear mine that length before I got sick...",
she said as she remembered what it was like to have thick hair.

When she drove away I thought about the conversation we held
for the few minutes as I ran her transaction.

And my heart broke.
It broke because it was another example of how unfair life is,
and how her life was changed the minute she found out it was breast cancer.

It made me think of the song by Reba.
What do you say?
What do you say in a moment like this?
When you can't find the words to tell it like it is...
Just bite your tongue and let your heart lead the way...

Every. single. day. I gripe and complain about something.
The way I look.
My hair not laying right...or it's too frizzy.
My job being stressful at times.
or even something as simple as
it being too cold outside.

I'm human, and I make mistakes
but I feel as if I use that excuse too much.

So starting right now...
I'm going to try my best to not complain so freakin' much.
It's gonna be a daily struggle.
It's gonna be hard.
But I'm going to do my best.

Fur Baby Friday!

You know I can't pass up a link up dealing with
my precious fur babes!

Our Kaci and Buck...

They lead such a hard life...

Running Review...

For those that have stumbled across this little post,
you may not know that I am working my way to getting in shape.
Mentally, physically, and emotionally.

It's been right at ten days since I, so very bravely I say, registered for
It's been something I have wanted to do for so, so long,
and the thought of actually doing one is not only exciting,
but honestly very scary in my opinion.

The fun part about this whole game plan is that I can now
use my blog as a way to write down everything that I come across in
these months of preparation.
And knowing that next year I can look back on these days
and say,
"I have come so far"..
it absolutely excites me!

So far here's the skinny on what I'm noticing....

The shoes:
They are so far, very comfortable.
Before I was wearing a shoe by Adidas that was actually
made for trail running. It had no support what so ever except
for what was made in the shoe.
I am still getting used to the inserts that I got,
but so far they are feeling good.

Training location:
Most of my sessions have taken place at the local
civic center where I have joined.
The indoor track is perfect for what I'm doing,
and where it's at is great because it's so close to my work.

Exercise / Training program:
As of right now, I am doing my own little program
I've compiled through research.
Huh? What?
Well..at the track that I go to 10 laps equal 1 mile.
Each week I am making it a goal to increase my first set of running laps by 1.
For example this week:
Walk 2, Run 3, Walk 2, Run 2, Walk 1, Run 1, Walk 2
If I feel like I need to stay at the same amount then I will.
But for right now, it seems to be working for me.
I do this a minimum of 3 days a week with at least 2 resting days.
This is my plan until I can continuously run a mile non stop.
Then I will work my way up to a continuous 3 mile run.
By July I will hopefully be in check to
start on a 1/2 marathon training program a friend recommended to me

Aches/ Pains:
Shin Splints.
They are killer.
I'm working on stretching longer, and more thorough.
I know that that's the key to escaping injuries.
And besides, I know I'm carrying weight plus my muscles
are starting to get used after being asleep for so long.

Nutrition / eating habits:
This is honestly a work in progress.
I've done great with dropping the sodas.
It's the part of finding recipes and cooking healthy that's challenging.
I'm drinking water, water, water...
and trying to stay positive that just that will make a difference,
I just need to give it time.

Goals achieved:
I was stuck on not being able to make a second consecutive lap.
This week I got to three!
I sent this picture to my honey when I did my cool down lap.

Excuse the blurry, motion caused kind of quality.

So far I'm feeling good.
I'm ten days in and although I know that it may seem small,
I've building that stamina up slowly but surely.

I'm excited to see what
I'll be doing 8 months in!

My Letters {3}

{totally inspired by them}

Dear Hubby:
I think this picture is incredibly hot.

xoxo

Dear Blog friends:
I'm thinking about a give-away sometime soon.
Just a heads up!

Dear Directv:
I am so addicted to your radio channels.
Sophie B....I love you.

 Dear Head of Hair:
I haven't forgotten about you.
I do realize you need a trim and color so very badly.
I promise...your time will come!

Dear City of Gallatin or whoever handles it..
This during my early morning, 10 minute commute to work...
is becoming a hassel...
please tell me why you choose to do this at this time of day??

and lastly,

Dear Reader:
Thank you for taking the time to stop by
and read these silly ol' letters!
