Skinny-spirations!

Besides the fact of losing weight...
lowering my blood pressure and becoming healthy again...

fabulous clothes gets me so motivated to get my tush out there and exercise.

Oh how I can't wait to feel cute again,
and actually love trying on new clothes.

Let me just say I will be shouting from the roof tops when that day comes!

The Stuffed Puppy My Hubby Gave Me

This little beanie baby is always in my view when
I wake up in the mornings.
And sometimes I catch myself smiling at him.

He sits on our dresser.

If he didn't have a story, I'd probably take him to Goodwill..
but since he does, I'll keep him forever.

My hubs and I hadn't been married a year yet when
I started begging for a puppy.
I'd research and research on breeds, and breeders...
and search the local rescue sites in our areas,
bombarding the hubby's text messages with cute pictures of
puppies up for adoption.

One evening as I sat on our bed the hubs came in and told
me to stay in our room and not come out till he told me to.

Of course right then I knew something was hid up his sleeve,
so I sat there anxiously awaiting.
I heard him open our laundry room door.
What in the world was he doing?
I thought.

As I sat there patiently and quietly...
I heard...
"Shhhh, be quiet..."

"Honey, close your eyes"
My stomach sank.
I just knew....

"alright babe...open"

Bam.
Right in my stomach, he threw me our first puppy.

Unfortunately he came stuffed.

{I'm thinkin' I'll still be laughin' at that one when we're 80
sittin' on the front porch}

My Letters { 2 }

{totally inspired by them}

Dear Hubby:
I found this picture of you and I
from way back when...
It looks like we were at Cracker Barrel.

I love you.

Dear Me:
I don't know what kind of negative thoughts
you have in your head,
but you need to stop feeding it,
and think positive.
Mind over matter.

Dear Kaci and Buck:
It's pouring down rain right now,
and you both are outside.
I'm sure you're loving the run of the muddy yard...
but please don't look like this when you're done.

Thank you.

Dear Amber:
You got it, girl...
keep up the good work!

Dear Breanna:
Thank you, thank you, thank you
for your sweet surprise you gave me!
I will definitely being doing a post on that one this weekend!
Hugs!

Mid Week Confessions!

Oh my, oh my...
how I love a good link up!
Lord knows I haven't done one of these in a while...
so here it goes!

I think my husband is the silliest of the silly's.
Seriously, he makes me laugh every day..
I'm guessing that's a good thing, right?
Yah, I thought so.

The other day I snapped this picture of Buck laying on the back deck.
It was right before the storm hit,
and it was so nice and breezy outside.
I had the back door open,
and he sure was loving it.

I'm really trying to focus on the present time.
I am so guilty of wishing the days away...
like right now..longing for Friday to be here,
so I can enjoy a nice weekend.

The hubs and I were driving on the interstate tonight,
and noticed this strange looking cloud thingy in the sky.
It went from a wand, to a dental pick...all the way to a spider's leg.
Kind of crazy.

I'm kinda sleepy right now.
Yawn number five here.

Have you ever noticed what a range of
golf clubs they have out there?
Geez. It's a bunch I know that.
And tonight I stood in the midst of all of them.

This is really not turning into a confessional of any kind...
I'm guessing more of a random kinda post.
Oh well.

Say hi to my new running shoes.
I love them so far.
The guy at the shoe store was so awesome,
and so informative.
I'm so excited about my run tomorrow afternoon.

Well friends, I'm off to count sheep!
Everyone have a wonderful night!

What I Keep Telling Myself...

This is so hard.

And I'd be lying if I say I haven't thought for a split second that
"I bit off more than I could chew".

via

But I'm gonna do this.

And all the while, I will replay this in my head
over,
and over
again.

{If you're curious of what I'm talking about, read this}

So I Went Ahead and Did It...

Holy crap.

I finally did it.
After going back and forth with my husband
523,521,877 times
about whether or not I should do September's half marathon,
I registered.

via

That means I have 8 whole months to prepare myself
and get ready for this thing.

That's 243 days till race day.

Oh what emotions and feelings I will have when I cross that finish line.

I can do this, and I will do this.

Motivation determines what you do.
Attitude determines how well you do it.”

Because I Wanna Say....

..thank you, thank you, thank you
for stopping by and saying hi!

Because I wanna say thank you for your
sweet and friendly advice.

But I can't if you have
one little box empty.

So hurry, hurry, hurry and do it now...

it will bring a very big, cheesy smile to my face.

Promise.

It's so not a walk in the park for me...

So I have to make an appointment with the dentist.

Within the past couple of years,
each experience I have with the dentist,
gets worse and worse.

And it's not that the hygienist is being rough,
or the dentist isn't very nice..
it's my gums and my teeth.

via

If you saw a picture of my teeth,
you would think they were beautiful
{thanks to my parents for those expensive braces}
but within they are so sensitive and prone to cavities.

My gums are so sore, and bleed so bad.

I'm hoping and praying that the new toothpaste I got will help.
I can only use it for 4 weeks due to the ingredients in it.

Please fit me in a tiny little prayer that my experience won't be too bad.

My Letters.

{totally inspired by them}

Dear Hubby:
I absolutely love hate it when you take your wedding ring off,
and place it in certain spots.
I know that when you golf or play football...it pops in your mind
to take it off so you don't lose it.
I love that.
Thank you.

Dear Stouffers Lasagna:
I was tempted to try and make Paula Deen's recipe,
but then I realized you make a pretty good one.
Call me lazy, but cooking one from scratch didn't seem
too appealing to me
this evening.

Dear Gaylord CEO Colin Reed and Mrs. Dolly:
The thought of there being a new theme park in Nashville is
the most exciting news this year!
I was so sad when Opryland was torn down.
You get a huge thanks from me!

Dear Rooms to Go:
I understand that styles come and go..
and that even goes for furniture.
But when you have something as basic and universal as
the living room suite we have in our home,
you should still be able to order cushions.
You have let me down, and made me very frustrated as I still have to
live with this very annoying, eye sore of a hole in our couch.
Especially when they were able to be purchased a month a go.

Dear Owner of the black cat on our porch:
It's precious..and it's cold outside.
Therefore that makes it very cold too.
And along with that...it's making my two fur babes crazy
wanting to munch on your little black cat.
Please start looking for it.
Because I can't own a kitty.

This and That

I have found myself a new love.
The Banana Nut bread at Starbucks.
It should be a sin it's so good.

When I pass by Starbucks on the way to work in the mornings
I have to control every part of me to not turn the wheel
and pull in to the parking lot.
At those points in time,
I am for real telling Jesus to take the wheel.

Yesterday we had the craziest weather in Tennessee.
Middle of January and it's 60 degrees outside with thunderstorms.
That's Tennessee for ya!

Tomorrow is my half day at work.
It's nice when 12 o'clock rolls around and it's actually light outside
when you get home.
Summer, I need you!

I do have to get some major cleaning done.
This dusting around the corners isn't cuttin' it.
{Did I just say that?}

Tonight the hubs and I started on Season 7 of Greys.
I still am in shock at how Season 6 ended.
It literally when out with a bang!

So what's new with you??

If you made it this far...
thank you! :)

My Little Get Away Trip

I took a little over night get away trip to a small town in
Kentucky called Glasgow.

My sister drove up from Louisville, and she almost went home with a
tiny little Maltese puppy...

but that's for a different post.

We laughed, we cried...we ate, we shopped, laughed some more....
and we slept.

And that was everything I needed.

And seeing this sweet baby girl, Sophie..
didn't exactly help with my baby fever.

She's so adorable, and smart as a whip.

And if there is one thing that I took home with me this weekend...
it's that it really is true...

Families are like fudge...
mostly sweet with a few nuts.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Ps.
What'd ya think about the new layout and title??
I'm so in love with it!

Upcoming Changes!

Friends...
in about a week or so...

you might see some changes with this little ol' blog of mine.

For starters,
it's getting a bright and shiny new make over!

And secondly...

I'm excited to say that I am changing it's name.

I've never really been fond of my blog title
because for one there's several
This Little Blog of Mine's
out there.

So....

{drum roll}

when the final layout gets smacked on here,
it will be

Dizzy Miss Lizzie!

HA. I love it!
Frankly because it's different,
and it's a song by one of my favorite bands,
The Beatles.

So with that being said...

keep watch for this exciting little change!

Love.

Give me Summer!

Old Man Winter finally made his appearance over the last couple of days.
I know it's nothing major...
but for me...
it's too much.

I like the look of snow...and even the thought of snow...
but the feel of snow...
I despise.

The hubs and I had a great date night last night.
It was kind of last minute...
but I just can't pass up a trip to my favorite store,
Target.
I picked this cute little sign up out of the dollar bin
for Mike...
but I'm starting to think how adorable it would be in a nursery.
For now, it'll be for the hubs.

I swear, Red Robin has the best fried mushrooms.
I try not to think about how much I slacked on eating better
the past couple of days, though.

I came across this picture while hanging with my bestie today.
I love looking at pictures from the past.

 And speaking of the past...
I'm ready for Summer.

...and vacation.

Nuff said.

Stuff.

Can you believe I'm blogging two days in a row??
I told ya I wanted to do better about blogging,
so here I am. :)

One of my co-workers made this fabulous cheese ball.
Come to think of it, I think my mom has made it before.
I don't think she had the pecans with it though.
Either way, I'm making it...
and what better place to stick your grocery list than
on the dashboard in your car.

I've always, always been a fan of Burt's Bees products...
especially their chap stick.
However, when I ran out I decided to try this new gem
that I had seen floating around.
Love, love, love it!

And it even smells like lemons!

Since I spoil these babies,
{how can I not?}
I picked them up a new toy.
75% off stole my eye,
and my money!

I am addicted to these clementine oranges.
Goodness, they're so good.
I even put one or two in my purse for a mid day snack.

And yes, I'm one of those people that have Christmas candy
on my desk up until way past Valentines Day.

See ya!

Six Years Old.

Last night we celebrated a very special 6 year old's birthday.

We piled in to the big van and headed to Dave & Buster's where we
seriously ate till we felt like we were gonna pop,
and played till we were dragging.
12:30 was way past my bed time.
{I'm normally in the bed by 10}

I love this picture of my hubs and Cameron.

It's hard to believe that just last year, some of Opry Mills had 9 ft. of water in it.
The mall is still waiting to be opened due to remodeling because of the flood.

These pics crack me up.
The distortion option on my phone was a hit,
and we seriously laughed till we cried on some of these.

And of course, my husband doing his usual "pictured out" pose.

What a fun night we had!
Love you, Cameron!
