Sidekick Sunday

So I'm linking up with Sarah this lovely evening...
and I'm thinking you should too!

And since we all know just how much I love bragging
about our fur children...
it made perfect sense for me to!

1. Can your sidekick do tricks?
I wouldn't say tricks...{I wish they could}, but they do know how to sit.
Kaci knows how to bring you her toy if you ask her too.
And since I thought you might wanna hear how insanely annoying and high pitch
my voice is, I uploaded a video. TURN YOUR VOLUME ON LOW!

A surprise will be given if you can tell me the number of times I ask where daddy is.
Kidding. Oh! And just so you know, I honestly don't think I talk that high normally.

2. If so, how was your experience teaching them?
My husband actually worked with them on sitting.
Kaci, however learned pretty quickly on bringing her toy to you.
It's all in the key of repetition.

3. If not, do you want to teach them? What tricks would you like for your sidekick to be able to do?
 I wish they could play dead. I saw a video on youtube of a dog doing that...and it was hilarious.

**Ps. I hate not being able to center this video. The slight OCD in me thinks everything is thrown off
because of it.**

Because I Like to Wait....

...till Summer is over half way finished
to let you know about a life money saver of a product.

And when I say money saver...
I mean because you don't have to run to the salon
for a simple fix.

Every Summer we are at the pool constantly, and with that being said...
means the ugly effects Chlorine gives your hair.

I have experienced "Swimmer's hair" a couple of times,
and let me say it's not pretty.

I use Clarifying Shampoo Three by Paul Mitchell
{sorry, it won't let me link anything
that I get from my hair dresser.
I have personally tried all the tricks and trades of the book
{vinegar, ketchup..you name it, I've tried it}
and none of them worked for me.

Find it and try it!

A Funny Conversation....

Me: Omygosh, honey....I know what we can get! An anchor of love!

Hubs: Huh? An anchor? Why are you being weird?

Me: It'd be so cute! Signifying our love for each other..

Hubs: No, we aren't getting an anchor.

Me: It could be small and hidden...and just something we could know about...

Hubs: Huh?

Me: A tattoo!!! It'd be adorable.

Hubs: You act like I'm supposed to know when you say anchor,
you mean a tattoo.
Me: I'm gonna keep pressing for an anchor.

Hubs: {{smiles, and shakes his head}}

I saw this picture on Pinterest...
and thought it was so adorable.

I Have a Vision..

...of what our bedroom will look like one day.

The walls will be painted.
New curtains will be hung...

A new bedroom suite will seen...
and a beautiful comforter set will be shown.

{sigh}
...until then...
this is what ya get.

And I'm thankful for it.
Truly I am.

It may not be the prettiest or the most romantic master bedroom..
but it keeps me warm at night...
 close to my husband and fur babies...
 and that's all I should be concerned about, right?

Maybe I should lay off the Pinterest
for a while
and make up our bed.

Thursdee Thoughts...

...in a random kind of way.

  • Tomorrow is Friday. Can I get an amen??
  • This afternoon I finally got my hair cut. It feels so much better, and so much more healthier at that.
I tried the long hair and as much as I wish I could do it, I can't. When it get's past the shoulders it starts
looking dead, and drab.

...and from a different angle. I kind of look crazy..but I was trying to add
some volume when the hubs snapped a pic. Oh well.

  • Speaking of hair, I was able to donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths ....{my hair wasn't long enough, so Locks of Love couldn't take it}.
It touches my heart that I was able to do this. I have had several people in my life who have had
cancer and had to experience chemotherapy...

  • Tomorrow night I am attending a branch outing with my hub's new work. I'm looking forward to meeting his new team.
  • My love and I are starting to peck away at our vacation plans come September. As much as I wish we could fly to Orlando to see my family...tickets are looking too pricey. Instead, I think we are going to rent a cabin for a few days in the Smoky Mountains. I'm so excited.

Looks like it's almost my bed time....
hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Wordless Wednesday...

{sort of}

I'm thinking placing these
mannequin heads for cosmetology school
in the toy section of Goodwill...
isn't such a good idea.

Old Pictures

I came across some pictures the other day, and couldn't help but think about
where I was at this point in my life.

It's crazy to think about just how bad I had it for the guy in the blue
standing behind me.
And just how crazy of a girl I was to put a million minutes
in to something that wasn't what I needed.

Yup. That's me with so much sadness in my eyes.
At the moment I didn't feel sad,
but looking back I think I was deep down.

The wild part is the man for me was
right in front of my face all along.

And that's what makes me smile...not the pictures.

Show Us Your : Laundry Room

...because it's the most exciting thing in the whole entire house!
Not.

I have already said that if we ever
move or even build a house one day...
I want a massive laundry room...
with counter space to fold clothes.

My mom has a laundry room that inspires me.
Organized, and pretty.
{yes, it is possible for a laundry room to be pretty}

I'm fairly organized in here...
but I do want to make it even more organized than it is already.

The hard part is the location of the shelves and the size of the room.
Reaching things are pretty hard if you have short limbs like me.

This is my favorite thing in here.
I grabbed this thing at Goodwill for like 4 bucks one day,
and thought the faucet pipes looked perfect
for laundry room type decor.

Since I'm in the process of cleaning off the fridge...
I thought what better way to declutter it was to hang some
stuff in a room guests don't too often look in.

 And another Goodwill find.
Perfect for my laundry goods.

Maybe my next room I'll show y'all will be our room!

..and you're my reason.

I appreciate you.
I appreciate
your thoughts,
 comments, and concerns.

Thank you!

Totally Miscellany Monday

Totally random...
and totally linking up!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

A typical Monday it was.
I got to work early...and had to work late.
Fun stuff.

However, I did do something I don't typically do after work.
I met my hubs at a local golf course and watched him play.
Have I ever mentioned just how handsome I think he is??

This evening I was dying for some Mexican food.
The hubs wasn't too crazy about the idea because of his tummy...
so instead I came home and made some baked potatoes with broccoli.

This is Cameron's pet frog.
He placed him in a little cage
and fed him fish food.
Kinda cute, huh?

I think I am PMSing.
The past few nights I have gone to bed with a headache...
needing to take IBProfen..and right now,
I'm sitting here sweating when I know the air is running.

I picked up some new doggie treats for the puppies.
Low fat, low calorie treats.
Even pups have to watch their weight.

I'm off to bed now.
The fan and my fluffy down comforter are calling my name.
Maybe one night this week I will have a semi interesting post for ya!

Sweet dreams, friends!

You're Everything

You're a falling star, You're the get away car.
You're the line in the sand when I go too far.
You're the swimming pool, on an August day.
And you're the perfect thing to say.

And you play it coy, but it's kinda cute.
Ah, When you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don't pretend, that you don't know it's true.
Cause you can see it when I look at you.

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.

You're a carousel, you're a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You're a mystery, you're from outer space,
You're every minute of my everyday.

And I can't believe, uh that I'm your girl,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do.

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're every song, and I sing along.
'Cause you're my everything.
Yeah, yeah

Sidekick Sunday

If y'all haven't noticed by now...
I am crazy obsessed with my pooches.

They are our pride and joy even when they
decide they wanna get a hold of my favorite bra
or my 178,456th pair of black Old Navy flip flops.

So when Jessica told me about Sarah's cute blog
and fun pet link up...I was there!

1. What do you love most about your sidekick(s)?
The unconditional love we receive from them.
I always know that if I have had a bad day, or if I'm sad...
they will love me no matter what.

2. Do they have any habits you wish they'd change, if any?
They both don't really have any bad habits...
just allergies that I know they can't really help.
That's the only thing that I would say we are trying to deal with
right now.

3. What does your sidekick do that can instantly make you laugh or smile?
Buck is our little snaggle tooth...his lip usually gets stuck on one side,
only showing his big canine tooth.

And Kaci...she does this tongue thing..that is precious.

What's on your Fridge??

I'm debating on cleaning off my fridge.

Part of me likes personalizing it with pictures and nick knacks...
making it an easy conversation piece with guests...

but on the other hand,
I like the look of a nice, clean refrigerator.

So what's on your fridge??

Fill in the Blank Friday

Tonight I'm playing along with Lauren!

1.   One of my happiest moments ever was....
when my husband woke me up one Sunday morning
and asked if I wanted to go to church with him. This was something I had prayed and prayed for, and something that I trusted would happen at the right time.

2.  Summer is wedding season and weddings are...
something that are beautiful when there is love between two people. It
doesn't matter what size the wedding is, where it's at, or how fancy.

3.  This summer...
has flown by and I can't believe July is almost over. Before we know it
we will be hanging ornaments and Christmas lights on the tree!

4.  My summer food of choice has been...
lots and lots of strawberries! I think I have bought more strawberries this
year than any other time ever. I love them!

5.  My summer uniform has been...
my swim suit! On weekends, we usually head to my in laws and hang out with
them around the pool. I love it!

6.  If I could spend the entire summer in one location I would choose...
a beach house that was right on the ocean. I would spend every day laying on the beach
with my Slacker radio playing and a ton of magazines.

7.  My summer anthem is ...
Good Life by One Republic. I have all I need. A wonderful husband, a home....I am truly blessed!

Thank goodness the weekend
is here!

A Southern Thang....

...that is found on every roadside stand below the
Mason Dixon line.

Growing up it was a tradition for each of us
to get a bag on our way out of Florida...
tossing the shells in to a plastic bag
only to leave a few on the floor board
by our seats.

They sure are good...
but the salty juice makes my fingers hurt
after awhile.

And to think I found them
at our local Wal Mart.

Who would have thought?

My Walking Route

I decided to go ahead and get my walk out of the way instead
of waiting till this evening.

I love the feeling of accomplishment
and
knowing that I just sweated my booty off.

For the most part it's a fairly easy route.
I've never been one to enjoy the concrete....
when I would run or go walking in the past,
I always opted for the grass if there was some near by.
Ask my bestie..aka runny bud.

The temperature may not be so lovely...reading at 94 but feeling like 100+.
But the blue skies however are gorgeous here in Tennessee.

This hill thought it would be the death of me...
but my calves thoroughly enjoyed the pain.

I've been seeing these bushes all throughout the neighborhood...
and had to snap a pic.
I may be using it as reference when
I'm trying to explain
to the Home Depot boy what I'm looking for.

My hands and face are so swollen, but dang do I feel good! :)

Off to the pool I go! :)

Happy Thursday, friends!

Vacation Ideas

Hey sweet friends...
I wanted to ask for some help in the vacation department.

Looks like our original plans of flying to Orlando may be fading.
Tickets are running just too expensive and driving might be kinda much.
{and even for what we're wanting to pay right now}

So we're thinking we might just take a fun little road trip somewhere
for a few days!

What are some fun things
to do in your area?

*some key factors are: we would be vacationing week of Sept 19th...
and we're driving from the Nashville area*

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one}
what is your dream job?
Amazing how things have changed from when I was in a different
part of life. Ask me 10 years ago, and I would have said working for Disney
doing animation. Now, it's being a mommy.

{two}
how many best friends do you have?
Jaclyne and Denise.
I love those girls so much!

{three}
what’s the longest road trip
you’ve ever taken?
When I was younger, we took a family vacation out west hitting
some amazing spots along the way....
Mt. Rushmore, Devil's Tower, and even Yellowstone Natl. Park.
{Wish I had some pictures to show}

{four}
if you had to do one single thing
every day for the next year,
what would it be?
Go without saying one negative thing everyday.
It's so easy to focus on the bad things instead of the millions of
blessings and good things we have happening right in front of our faces
I know I'm guilty of whining and complaining far too much!

{five}
what’s one story your family always
tells about you?
"Today we are going to be talking about bear attacks, gun shootings, and fires"...
{remember that one, dad?}
I used to love grabbing the microphone and pretending I was a talk show host
to an audience full of imaginary faces.

{six}
how did your parents pick your name?
I don't think I know the story behind this one. I think my mom liked Elizabeth
and my dad liked Marie.

{seven}
what’s the one thing that scares
you more than anything?
I have two that's pretty equal with the fear factor.
Losing my husband and becoming a widow.
{I can't even imagine life that way...it makes my heart hurt thinking about it}
and two...having a baby with special needs and not knowing how to provide
and give what it would need.
I'm guessing you just roll with it, and do the best you can.

{eight}
are you a good cook?
 I'm guessing my hubs should answer this one.
Luckily he will eat whatever I fix...and then tell me what he thinks after the fact.
I would like to think I am...but I'm a true example of learning as I go.

{nine}
where do you see yourself in 20 years?
I would love to be living comfortably with my husband...watching our kids
graduate high school and maybe go off to college.

{ten}
what’s your best childhood memory?
I love thinking back to the times when my mom was around and
all I had to worry about is where I left my favorite Barbie outfit...or
my favorite stuffed animal.
