February 1st

The hubs and I have a decision that probably sounds odd in some people's eyes.

It was actually my idea to set a date....his response to it was just laughing.

We have decided to cut back on a lot of things starting now (we'd like to say January 1st, but sooner is better than later.)

Just a few examples:

Obvious money savers are taking our lunches to work and not eating out. That right there is a given. Luckily, I live close enough to home to just drive home on my lunch and eat, but the hubs? Not so much.

Our insurance. Come to find out, my coverage was too much on my car. We were able to lower it and save money substantially just by making a phone call to our insurance agent.

Our cell phones. Thinking that Verizon is the best...we are actually going to shop around and see what's out there. What we are paying for our cell phones each month is ridiculously high, and I'm pretty much tired of seeing that amount come out of our account each month.

Grocery shopping. I have a bad habit of browsing recipes online, getting an itch to cook it, and making a trip to the grocery store to pick up more than what the recipe calls for only to spend more money that is needed.

Don't judge by the organizational skills I have going on here.

And that's not even including a huge freezer we have in the garage full of meats and things....or our tall pantry full of stuff.

We have set a date of February 1st that will be the first date of my major grocery shopping (and that's if we really need it). Only trips to the store will be made for the necessities.

2010 in Review

What a full filling year the hubs and I had!

Although nothing terrible happened in '10...I'm ready to ring in the 2011 with my man! I am so excited to see what this new year brings!

In no particular order....

**Bought our first home!**

**Went on our first cruise!**

**Visited the Bahamas!**

**Snorkeled in the Bahamas!**

**Joined a book club! (Minus Michelle)**

**Brought home a new puppy...Buck!**

**Hubby became Asst. Manager of a new branch!**

The Lord has blessed us in so many ways. These were some of the ones that came to mind, and of course there are a million of other things.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Years!!!

Oh Sandra.... I love you...and your style.

Besides your amazing talent of an actress, you have a fashion style unlike any other.

And I finally realized this while browsing through my favorite website People tonight.

I would love to borrow these adorable gray knee high boots for New Year's weekend...

And for a hot date with the hubs... this dress will do. (only if I were the size you are, sigh)

You know seriously, only you could make a Charlie Brown t-shirt and some worn out ripped jeans look incredibly stylish for a day at the park.

And I love this thin, black top.

What can I say, Sandra? I may not have a place in mind to wear all your clothes...but I'm sure I can find one.

Your biggest fan.

Monday and 200th Post

I just want to ask....where did you go, weekend??

The Christmas holiday is my favorite holiday in the year. I love everything about it. The lights, the family time, the gift giving and receiving...and the whole reason for the season. Jesus' birthday.

However, it's always so busy.

The hubs and I were on the go non-stop pretty much all weekend, so needless to say, I'm looking forward to bringing in the New Year low key.

All day today I thought about my kitchen and how I needed wanted to get home and clean it.

It was beyond disgusting. Okay, it could have been worse, but in my eyes it was horrid.

Needless to say, when I got home I cleaned it up.

I have spent the majority of the evening looking through websites with paint colors, themes, and light fixtures for our kitchen.

This April will be one year since I painted our kitchen a beautiful green. Well, I think it was pretty along with everyone else except the hubs.

I have however have grown tired of it.

For Christmas, Christie and Tina gave us a pretty nice size gift card to Home Depot to update our kitchen light. For some strange reason, when we bought the house every other light fixture was updated except the ugly eye sore of a brass fixture over our kitchen table. I'm excited to get it replaced.

Next will be the kitchen knobs/hinges.

Something else we were blessed with was a new Flip MinoHD Video camera.

I love this thing so far, and I'm so excited to put it to good use! I started to post my first video on here, but when I tried it out, I thought I looked too horrible it being the first time. Maybe tomorrow. :)

I meant to mention this sooner, but I did not send out any Christmas cards. Yup, even after all the hype from the Shutterfly post, I didn't get around to it. I know, I'm bad. Maybe next year.

However, thank you to all that thought to send us precious Christmas cards. We loved receiving them!

Friday evening was my very first time in a very long time using heat rollers. I loved them...and the curl held for a couple days. It will definitely not be my last time.

Speaking of hair, I'm leaning on going back blond. My hair needs to be done, but color I haven't decided on.

Oh yay...guess who decided to come change the channel. Oh well, since I love sitting next to the man enough.. I think I can handle it.

Ps. Happy 200th posting to me! :)

Bubble Spinner and a New Kind of Hot

I have a new confession to make.

I am addicted to a game called Bubble Spinner (there's different ones, I like BS2).

I found it one night while trying to find out the name of a game some friends and I were talking about, and the game caught my attention.

And now I'm hooked.

It's kind of sort of like the old school game Tetris except it's with bubbles, and you have to get at least 3 in a row of the same color for them to eliminate.

When I'm trying to fall asleep at night by getting my eyes heavy, I play it. You can too, just click here.

I had one of my friends laughing today.

I was telling her how I found a new kind of hot in my hubby today. Ever since I have known him, he has been in a suit and tie attire with work...considering he works in a bank.

This week he's on vacation, and instead of lounging around here at the house, he's helping his dad and crew with some jobs within the HVAC business he owns.

The thought of him getting hot and sweaty, all dirtied up....I love it!

Now....the washing the stinky, gross clothes?? That's a different story.

Nothing Much to Say

I had full intentions of coming home this afternoon and taking a nap, but I got so wrapped up in watching one of my all time favorite movies, "The Family Stone". I have seen it a million times, and I'm guessing because of Christmas being around the corner, they're playing in on the movie channels. Either way, I love it and I'm still yawning.

I found a recipe this evening Laura posted from Between the Lines. It's Peanut Butter and Banana Biscuits....and I plan on making it soon for Kaci and Buck. I'm sure they would love them.

Yesterday at work we had a scary incident happen. One of our dear co-workers was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Not knowing anything, we guessed it might have been a stroke. After tests were ran, it was found out to be a small aneurysm. They are still running tests to see what will be the next step. I pray that the doctors have the knowledge to do what they need to do to get things better.

The hub's made an appointment for Buck to get neutered. It works out because the hubs is on vacation till after Christmas starting on Friday. I'm hoping Buck does okay. Being discreet with the whole thing, Buck had only "one" form.  So with surgery, the vet may have to go in through his stomach to remove the second one, which if it stays in too could turn cancerous. We're hoping everything goes smoothly.

Well, I know this was probably the most uninteresting post ever, but I have nothing more to say.

Hope everyone has a warm evening!

Twenty Eight for Twenty Eight Years

I'm not gonna lie and say that I won't get teary eyed while writing this post.

I've been so emotional lately that even myself is getting tired of it.

There's no other man person in this world that could come close to making me feel the way I do like he does.

And I guess that's one of the trillion reasons I married this fella.

  • You put your heart and soul in to everything you love and are passionate about.
  • You work hard to give me the things I want and need...even if you think I shouldn't have it.
  • You calm me down when my world gets crazy.
  • You handle my way of keeping a house clean, and my way of "putting up clothes."
  • You love me in a way that no one else could ever.
  • You are going to be the best daddy....(when that does happen. wink.)
  • You love your momma like any son should.
  • You handle situations right then and there no matter what time of the day it is...which is total opposite of me.
  • You have a heart the size of Texas and will do anything for anyone.
  • You support me and my Bloggaholic ways along with everything else I do.
  • You back me up on anything.
  • You gave me my Kaci that I had begged for for so long and then some! I love my Buck too!
  • You're honest even when it's hard to be.
  • You motivate me.
  • You treat your friends like family.
  • You make me laugh every day.
  • You're willing to fight with me....and you fight the right way.
  • You're willing to eat anything I cook or attempt to cook!
  • You're a big kid at heart.
  • You appreciate the fact that I try to be the best wife I can.
  • You try to be the best husband and that's all I could ever ask for.
  • You love me even when I'm not worth liking.
  • You're dependable.
  • You help me like therapy would, even though you don't charge for it. :)
  • You know everything about me, in and out...and all my secrets, and you never tell.
  • You aren't afraid to speak your mind, and I find that so inspiring.
  • You call me when you're out somewhere just to see how I'm doing.
  • You spend time with me when there's plenty of other things you could do.
Happy TWENTY EIGHTH Birthday, Babe!

I love you to the moon and back, and all the way around the sun!

Today must be made for the hubs and I to be at each others throats....and I hate it.

Maybe it's the hubs clock getting antsy and angry he's turning twenty eight tomorrow.

Who knows.

But I guess with the good times come the not so good times. Our day hasn't been fighting, and just been little arguments that go on in 10 minute intervals.

If it's not the puppies, it's the t.v. and if it's not the t.v. then it's the deer sausage. (Yes, I said deer sausage. It's actually better than deer meat, but either way, I prefer none.)

And see, it's stupid stuff. I swear. I don't know what's worse....arguing about stupid stuff or arguing about more serious stuff like money, etc. etc.

And to top it off....these two puppies did some dirt digging in the back yard over the weekend.

I'm guessing they had a pretty fun time. At least some of us had better days.

Pity Party

( I'm noticing a trend here. All of my post titles have started with the letter P. )

I'm gonna stand on my soap box for just a few moments while writing this post, and when I get done I'm sure I will get off of it.

I'm having a pity party this morning for the sake of Christmas cards in the Thomas household.

Why must my husband men be so difficult?

I participated in the 50 free Christmas cards from Shutterfly that I mentioned some posts back. The hubs saw how excited I was and what a great deal it was in my opinion.

The deadline is getting closer and closer, and of course my sweet hubs is not wanting to cooperate and make his wife happy today.

The reason he's giving? Because it's his birthday tomorrow

I swear, you'd think the man would realize that his wife is always right, and when she wants something...she wants it!! (Okay...the always right part...that's not so true, but still.)

Friends and family...when ya get our Christmas card in the prepared. It might have a picture of a fake family on it that we'll just say is us.

Oh and Lovey (since I know you read my blog) better be happy I love you and it's your birthday, tomorrow! :)

My Plucker

I think I have mentioned before that I find getting my brows plucked absolutely relaxing.

When I make my appointment with my lady at the salon to do my brows, I secretly pray that it can last just 5 more minutes.

If I was laying on a cloud with someone who had a pair of tweezers, I'd be in a place close to Heaven.

Considering I hadn't seen my lady in quite some time...I decided to pass the job on to someone who is very hubs.

It took quite some time to talk him in to the job, but once he accepted...there was no waiting.

In case you're wondering those are tweezers and not scissors in the pic.

Thank you, Lovey for the job well done on my brows. Now I don't look like I have two caterpillars stuck to my forehead.

A Party with Pecker Pens

Before I start...this topic's on something I have never mentioned before in all my blogging days (like it's been many), so please don't come after me with the lectures. Thank ya very much!

I'm curious and I'm anxious to see the responses and views on what I am about to post.

Tonight I went to a Pecker Party. Alright, that's not what it was called, but I hate the way "Surprise Party" sounds, because that's so not what it is.

It's not birthday cake and's something totally different on a totally different scale.

It's a party filled with toys and gadgets for inside the bedroom (or where ever for some of you freaky deak people!).

I am probably blushing as I type this, because I know there's probably several people that read my blog that I could not imagine in my life talking about the S word with.

I had a great time as I sat there with a confused look on my face the majority of the night. Some of things...I will not describe. Let's just say the stuff was crazy in every way, shape, form and fashion.

I have never blushed so much, laughed so hard till I almost peed in my pants, and gave so many "huh" remarks as I did tonight.

Needless to say, it was a good, fun filled evening to a long week.

Along with all the fun, it triggered a thought.

I wanna know what's your views on adding stuff like this to your marriage?

And the reason why I specifically say marriage, is because well, I am married.

Do you view it as alright because you are in a relationship, or do you think it's wrong?

There at the party tonight, I was amongst some wild and crazy girls. Girls that were having fun, and letting loose along with myself.

But then... there was a particular girl that came to the party, but wanted nothing to do with any of it. She called the stuff crap, and that right there made me wonder, "why come if you know what it's all about?"

It also made me think of this lady whose a consultant and trying to bring some sort of income to the table, and this lady's calling her stuff crap?? It just irked me a tad.

Oh and I'm sorry if you got offended. I warned ya at the top.
Oh and P.S.S....I didn't buy a single thing.

I Hate When My Cracker Breaks....

I think I mentioned in a previous post about how I have become addicted to peanut butter slapped happy on a saltine cracker.

It has become my snack in the evening when I need something to eat because I like food salty.

I however, hate when my cracker breaks at the point of peanut butter touchdown. It drives me insane. Maybe I am losing it considering I am complaining about my cracker breaking....but I had to vent.

This afternoon when driving home from work for lunch (to eat my crackers)....I started singing my favorite Church hymns.

Hymns I haven't heard in years....Hymns that you would have thought I had forgotten the words to...hymns that I sung as a child.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine, oh what a foretaste of Glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of his Spirit, washed in his blood....

That hymn is one of my many favorites.

It just makes me think if God plants these words in my head and in my heart for a reason. The reason that when we stray away from church (I haven't been in quite some time), that we still have a sense of direction left to Him.

I guess you can call that my food for thought.

Goodness gracious, can ya tell I'm hungry??!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Check out Laura from Between the Lines
for more!

1. My hub's excitement. This afternoon my Lovey got to go meet professional wrestler Ric Flair downtown. I love seeing his face light up over things he loves. It's like I can see the little kid in him all over again. It was only a guy thing (I really didn't want to go anyways), and silly me forgot to give him my camera. He did come home with an autograph.

2.  Getting to see my sweet MIL. Mike's mom is coming to stay the night with us tonight. However, under the circumstances, I hate that she's in Nashville though. Her brother, Ralph is in ICU at Baptist after having a operation to remove a brain tumor and cancer off his lung. We are praying for a miracle right now because it's not looking good...considering it was in Stage 4 already.

3. Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer. Oh how I love thee. It's truly like a Winter Christmas in a cup. I'll say it again...Oh how I love thee.

4. The Family Stone. The hubs ordered this movie through Netflix, and it came in yesterday! I don't know what it is, but I love it. If you haven't seen it, I recommend in doing so.

Happy Wednesday!!
